8 Strands and 12 Strands HMPE Rope
Description:
HMPE rope is high in strength, light in weight and low in elongation. It provides better abrasion resistance and longer service life.
Strong: Under the same diameter, Same strength as steel wire.
Light: Under the same strength, weights 12% of steel wire, 20%-25% of Nylon rope or Polyester rope,18%-20% of Polypropylene rope
Small: Under the same strength, diameter is 55%-60% of Nylon rope or Polyester rope, 45% of Polypropylene rope.
Adavantage in Aquacuture Application:
Long Service Life: The combination of strength, UV, abrasion, and chemical resistance leads to a significantly longer lifespan (often 5-10+ years) compared to PP (2-4 years) or nylon (3-6 years), reducing replacement frequency and costs.
Reduced Maintenance: Less stretch means less frequent re-tensioning of nets and moorings. Resistance to biofouling (compared to some natural fibers) also lowers cleaning needs.
Increased Safety & Reliability: High strength and low stretch minimize the risk of catastrophic failure under extreme weather (storms, currents) or heavy biofouling loads. Predictable performance enhances operational safety.
Improved Cage Performance: Minimal stretch maintains optimal net volume and shape, ensuring good water flow and fish welfare. Prevents sagging or distortion.
Lighter Weight: Easier and safer to handle onboard vessels and during deployment/retrieval. Reduces fuel consumption for service vessels.
Mooring Efficiency: High strength allows for smaller diameter ropes in mooring systems, reducing drag from currents. Low stretch provides precise positioning and stability for cages and feed barges.
Versatility: Suitable for a wide range of critical applications.

Key Aquaculture Applications for HMPE Rope:
Cage Netting Lines:
Perimeter Lines (Headropes/Footropes): Forming the top and bottom edges of the net pen. HMPE provides dimensional stability and strength to support weights/floats and resist currents/fish loads.
Lacing/Lifelines: Vertical or horizontal lines reinforcing the net panels and providing attachment points. HMPE's strength and abrasion resistance are vital.
Bridles: Connecting the cage net to mooring buoys or sinker weights. Handles high dynamic loads.
Mooring Systems:
Mooring Lines: Connecting cages or feed barges to anchors or grid systems. HMPE handles high tension, resists abrasion on seabed/buoys, and provides stable positioning.
Grid Lines: Forming the backbone of multi-cage farm grids. Requires ultimate strength and durability.
Anchor Legs: Direct connection from anchor to buoy or grid.
Handling & Service Lines:
Lifting Slings: For handling nets, sinkers, or feed bags. High strength and safety are paramount.
Towing Lines: For moving cages or structures. Handles high dynamic loads.
Work Boat Dock Lines: For securing service vessels at the farm site.
