A Gusseted Tubular Thimble is an advanced, reinforced version of the standard tubular thimble. By welding a rib along the outer curve of the thimble, it is more strong to withstand the harsh marine environment, since the gusset plate acts as a structural spine, providing unparalleled resistance to compression, deformation, and multi-directional loading.
The gusseted design of tubular thimble we produced overcomes two main challenges.
Prevents Collapse under Synthetic Rope Pressure: The vertical rib enable the thimble with exceptional crush resistance, especially for powerful synthetic ropes.
Manages Multi-Directional Loads: In grid mooring arrays, lines are subject to loads from various angles, especially during storms or strong tidal shifts. The reinforced structure of the gusseted thimble resists bending and side-load deformation, maintaining a secure, shaped eye for the connecting shackle.
