Master link plays a critical role beyond lifting and rigging operations. It is widely used in offshore mooring systems and marine aquaculture mooring projects. It's coupled with steel thimble, we call it thimble and master link assembly. This combination protects the rope from abrasion and ensures a smooth, high‑strength termination that transfers loads efficiently.
Advantage:
1. Accommodating shackles – The generous inner space allows shackles or other connecting components to be attached freely, even under load, without jamming or excessive wear.
2. Preventing contact and friction – By providing ample clearance, the link keeps adjacent connecting elements (e.g., two shackles, or a shackle and a rope eye) from rubbing against each other.
