Rotomolded Polyethylene(PE) Buoy Conical Type
Our produced PE buoy is roto-molded polyethylene outer shell, EPS or PU foamed, hot dipped galvanized steel structure in the middle with strong terminating discs at the both ends of buoy. The rugged PE outer shell with high density expanded polystyrene foam core enable the buoy to withstand the hard marine environments, and can be worked as mooring buoy with long terms mooring performance. Buoys are commonly used in aquaculture fish farming mooring system, shellfish mooring, seaweed cultivation mooring grid with its characteristics of strong and light weight.
Material Specifications:
Outer Shell: Roto molded hard PE shell, thickness 8-10mm.
Foam: Expanded Polystyrene(EPS) or PU.
Stell Structure: Inserts steel struture is hot-dipped galvanized, with round discs at the both ends. The reinforced bottom connection points for direct attachment to anchor chains, mooring lines, and the anchor systems. Apart from the central galvanized steel pipe with welded eye pad at the both ends, it can be added four(4) eye bolts which run through the buoy buoy and to be fixed by screw nuts at the both ends as reinforcing rib.
Color: Yellow/Green/As per client's requirement
Ocean Buoy Features & Benefits:
Durability & Impact Resistance: Crafted through rotational molding, these buoys are seamless, ensuring exceptional strength and resistance to physical impacts in harsh marine environments. The closed-cell EPS foam is water-impermeable and will not absorb water, ensuring flotation performance remains consistent even if the outer shell is accidentally damaged.
Corrosion & Chemical Resistance: Made from polyethylene, they withstand saltwater, oils, and chemicals, outperforming metal alternatives prone to rust.
UV Stabilization: Treated with UV inhibitors to prevent degradation, ensuring long-term performance under constant sun exposure.
Lightweight & Easy Handling: Easier to install and deploy compared to metal buoys, reducing labor and logistical costs.
Customizable Options: Available in various sizes, colors, and shapes (spherical, cylindrical) with integrated attachment points for ropes/chains.
Eco-Friendly: Recyclable material aligns with sustainable aquaculture practices.
Applications in Aquaculture:
Mooring Systems: Anchor fish cages, net pens, and floating platforms, ensuring stability in strong currents or tides.
Marker Buoys: Delineate farm boundaries or sensitive zones with high-visibility designs.
Support for Floating Infrastructure: Provide buoyancy for walkways, feeding platforms, and harvest stations.
Shellfish & Seaweed Farming: Used in oyster, mussel, or algae cultivation systems for flotation and organization.
Load Distribution: Work with chains, ropes, and anchors to evenly distribute tension, preventing system submergence.
Anti-Fouling Solutions: Smooth PE surface resists barnacle and algae buildup, reducing maintenance (optional coatings available).

Offshore vessel mooring
Remote mooring of vessel
Fish Farming Cage Support
Additional mooring support for large vessel
Manufacturing Technique:
Rotational moulding is a process of forming hollow plastic products. Firstly put the plastic power into the moldand then heated and rotated along two vertical axes. The powder in the mold is melted and adhered onto the mold inner surface, then cooling down the mold and take out the product when it reaches a correct temperature.
Compare to the extrusion, injuection and blow molding processes, which are often used in plastic molding. The rotatinal moulding process is more suitable for the production of large, medium or complext plastic products. The products have almost no internal stress to ensure a very long service life.
Waysail specializes in sustainable and environmentally marine and aquaculture solutions, based on many years of experience in the supply and installation of all types of mooring systems, from aquaculture farms to single boat moorings.
