ABS Buoy is manufactured by injection molding of hemispheres, and then do high-speed rotational friction welding. The injection molding of two identical, hollow hemispheres allows for excellent control on wall thickness, material density and surface finish, and the high speed rotational friction welding creates a homogeneous, seamless sphere that is as strong as the parent material. This float can be used in water depths up to 1200 meters.

In aquaculture mooring systems, ABS buoy can be used anchor mooring line, where the end of mooring rope connects to the bottom chain. By attaching a series of ABS floats at the connection point, the terminal end of the line is lifted off the seabed. This creates a suspended, elevated connection that completely eliminates chafing against seabed.
